Welcome to Nagpur! The deemed Tiger capital of India! Are you ready for our drive to Pench National Park? Great! We proceed North on to NH7. At 16 km we reach Kamptee, famous for its beautiful Army Cantonment and its Rabdi. Soon after this we drive on a four lane expressway for 20 km. Work is on and it is only a matter of time that 80 out of total 90 km of Nagpur-Pench, will be four lane.
Should we proceed? At 40 km we reach Mansar. Most would stop here for Chai and Kachori. Also, about 6 km East from here is Ramtek, worth a visit for its mythological and archeological fame. There is also Khindsi lake with some water sports and a popular-with-their-clan Heritage Jain temple.
Chalen aage? Now the picturesque part of the drive starts. Density of trees slowly increases and soon after Paoni you feel you are driving through forest area. At 80 km we reach KHAWASA. The forest check post here is notorious for creating traffic bottlenecks but fortunately only till the four laning is complete. It is here that we turn left for our destination. A beautiful 10 km drive through the buffer zone will bring you to Turia. This is where our ‘TATHASTU’ is and further 2 km from us is the forest entry gate.
